       La Carlota City celebrated its 141st Annual Parochial Fiesta last January 21-24, 2017 with the traditional events joined by the local government through the playground demonstrations presented by La Carlota South Elem. School – I, La Carlota North Elem. School, and La Carlota South Elem School –II. The three central schools separately held the coronation program for the Ginoo at Mutya ng Lungsod ng La Carlota. A drum and lyre competition, amateur boxing, and larong panlahi also highlighted the festivities.
   
       City Mayor Luis J. Jalandoni III in his message during the drum and lyre competition said that through this traditional program young students are encouraged to display their ability and talents and demonstrate these in a true spirit of goodwill. He thanked the participating schools for contributing to the pleasure and variety of the celebration.
   
       The Top 3 winners in the drum and lyre competition were: Corazon Locsin Montelibano Elem. School – champion, La Carlota North Elem. School – 1st runner-up, and La Carlota South Elem. School – II- 2nd runner-up. Best K-Pop dance groups were the Break Time – champion, Nukerz Crew –1st runner-up, and DXI Dance Company – 2nd runner-up.
